At Heritage Farm, Project Based Learning is our model of instruction….

Components of PBL.png

We take the real problems we face in our community and on the farm such as feeding the animals, maintaining the farm, how to best grow plants in our greenhouse, and how to use our woodshop safely to design art projects.

Our opportunities for Project Based Learning are endless, and while our participants are tackling those problems they are building the employability and life skills they need to be independent and successful. The farm is our classroom and our approach is hand’s on. Our participants have voice and choice in the process and get to make decisions about the best possible solution to the problems we find.
